People today spend too much time on personal enjoyment - doing things they like to do rather than doing things they should do?
No, I do not agree with the statement that people today spend too much time on personal enjoyment rather than duties and obligations.To justify my views, points are as below.
First, it is true that there are technologically advanced gadgets available today, such as OOT platforms and other apps which have enhanced personal enjoyment to another level. having said that, we have similar apps that help us to track the whereabouts of our dear ones. this is a part of our familial duties. With the help of internet, it's easier to connect with our loved ones and keep in touch with them, which would not have been possible in earlier times. this means, that even when people are staying far from each other, they can still participate in rituals and ceremonies by virtual attendance.
For example, with the help of skype or whatsapp, a grandparent can easily attend his grandkid's birthday party virtually without having any regrets about staying far.
Second, on similar lines to paragraph 1, if you are staying away from your loved one,and it's their birthday you can easily buy a gift, or order a cake, without dissapointng them.
Third, there are a lot of family vacation packages designed by tour operators that take care of yours as well as your family's enjoyment. Though, it's true that there are different activites that appeal to an individual as compared to a family, taking kids to a place such as Disneyland would appeal to everyone.
Lastly, one of the important things that come to my mind when it comes to duties is supporting your family financially. it's far easier to transfer money to anyone in any part of the world, and that too in an instant. Also, because of advancements in transport, we are able to work in different parts of the world but able to reach our home quickly in case of any emergency. this would not have been possible in earlier days.
