In the reading passage, the author claims that scientist have found some theories may lead to the Little Ice Age,however listerning material entirely challenges the statement made by the writter, for it’s theories are not up to date and wrong.
First, about the glaciers theory, the author consider that the Little Ice Age may caused by huge ice burgs brought fresh cold water to the ocean, which effected the Gulf Steam Current and influenced the earth’s climate. But the listening material said the fact is those cold water didn’t have such strong influenced in the ocean,it shows by the up-date research that it effected only in Europe and America, but the water temperature in New Zealand sea has decreased as well.
Second,as the volcano theory, the writer mention that it may because of the volcanoes’ erupted, which burst a great number of ducts to the sky and blocked the sunlight,so that the earth’s temperature went down.Nevertheless the speaker says that is true the eruptions is enough to created a cooler climate ,yet if the reason is the dusts,it must be visible since the people would definitely noticed the color of the sun changed and deep color ‘snow’,but there is not any report was founded to prove this theory.
Thirdly,The population theory, the author believes it may on account of number of human population dropped surprisingly before that age,and fields became forests,as the result of the quantity of trees increased, the were fewer carbon dioxide gas, this kind of gas keep the greenhouse effects happened which warm the earth. However, according to the listening, there is no enough times to formed a forest, human’s population growth much faster than trees, withe more people the trees will cut down to fields quickly,so it wont disturb the greenhouse effects to lower the temperature.
