Dinosaurs as endotherms
The speaker contradicts with writer about whether the dinosaurs were endotherm or not by using three different points as stated in passage. three points used to contradict the argument were polar dinosaurs, leg position and third is harversian canals.
Firstly, he points out that as per passage fossils of dinosaurs were found at polar region and this indicates that they are endotherms. However according to the speaker ,is a misconception. In reality during warmer period on polar region dinosaurs were staying here and in cooler period like mansoon and cold they would have migrated to warmer places or they were just underwent hibernation process and survived in polar region.
Secondly, she opposes the information given in the passage that leg poisoning bellow stomach is for fast running purpose. running activity comes under physiology of endothermy. legs of modern endotherms are same as above. It is quiet contrary because this leg positioning was made for balancing large body weight and side positioning like lizards and modern reptile can not be compared to endotherms.
Thirdly, he denies the validity of harversian canal because of growth ring found in bones of dinosaurs. growth rings shows growth pattern. The pattern of bone was no or slow growth then faster growth. In the endotherms the growth patterns will be continues fast growth because they maintain their body temp throughout all seasons. So according to speaker the dinosaurs were not endotherms.
