how music affect consumer`s behavior
Lecture and reading passage is both about what influences the way consumer purchase goods. In the passage, the writer tend to write more about how consumer`s behavior affect further buying and what the retailers can do in order to increase the amount of purchase. Whereas, the speaker give several survey results and talk more about how music can show positive and negative impact on company`s future success.
As the writer mentions, there is something which cannot be affected by retailers, control the consumer`s behavior which shows great amount of impact on consumer`s repayment. Moreover, the writer compare consumer`s mood with unpredictable weather and notes that work, even personal life touch how much of money they are going to spend at store. Rather than talking about mood effect, the narrator give information about how music phase can have an effect of on consumer`s time to stay at restaurants. Furthermore, people are more likely to remain for longer periods and buy extras, including appetizers, beverages etc. when they are listening to low phased music in the restaurant. Also, people who were listening to fast songs, they were stayed at restaurant 15min less and spend 4$ less than the people who were in slow musical atmosphere.
In the passage, writer highlight more of importance of store`s appearance, product displays and color which can be modified by retailers to attract consumers. To add, seller shows great effort to make such things even more attractive in these days. Although, speaker reveal one of the crucial results from recent surveys. As she says, college students in a store with listening to hit songs stayed longer and told positive impression about both goods and store service. While, students as same age of aforementioned, but listening to older songs remained less time and spend less money than the consumers who were in themes playing with recent song.
