the possibility of clay jars to be used as electric batteries in ancient times.

Essay topics:

the possibility of clay jars to be used as electric batteries in ancient times.

The reading passage and the recording both discuss the possibility of clay jars in Iraq to be an electric batteries in ancient times. While the reading disagrees with that opinion, the lecturer believes the opinion is possiblly true.
To begin with, the reading claims that since there is no evidence for metal wires and other electric conductors, the prediction is unreasonable. However, the professor contradicts this by saying that those evidences were not found because of the limitation in ability of local people to recognize them due to the lack of archeology training.
Second, the reading passage mentions that the copper cylinders inside the vessels could be used for holding scrolls, rather than producing electricity because they are are similar to the copper cylinders in the ruins of Seleucia. Nonetheless, to challenge that point, the lecturer says that it can not prove anything. She provides later findings showing that the vessels with liquid could generate electricity. Admitting that they might be made for other purpose, but they ended up being adapted for producing electricity.
Finally, to contradict the claim of the writer that electricity as well as batteries in the ancient times were useless, the professor provides two possibilities in which electricity could be used effectively. The first one is to cause a mild shock to show invisible power in order to convince pther people. The second possibility, she mentions, is for healing, the same way as modern medication do such as stimulating muscle and improving brain activity.
That is how the professor thinks the points in the reading passage are unconvincing.
