In some countries, teenagers have jobs while they are still students. Do you think this is a good idea?
The level of education and literacy of any individual in a country plays a key role not only in the progress of his or her life but also in the development of their country specifically in the present-day world in which technologies and sciences are constantly changed and improved at an astounding rate. In some countries, teenagers both work and study simultaneously during their schooldays. However, I am a strong critic of this school of thought.
The first and foremost reason why I disagree with adolescents’ simultaneous working and studying is that they lose their attention and concentration on their courses and lessons. I subscribe to the idea that a student’s essential duties and aims are to perfectly learn their school lessons in order to achieve future accomplishments such as entering a distinguishing university and obtaining a job with a high salary. If students are involved in working, they will possibly lose their focus on their lessons, get lower grades in their lessons than their classmates, and fall behind their peers; then, they are eventually fired from their schools. It may be claimed that students need to learn how to earn money; nevertheless, I believe that they are going to have better opportunities in the future, particularly in the university period, to experience more related as well as specialized work with a high wage. In addition, countries demand specialists who render their countries developed rather than casual workers.
Another reason is that any individual in general and any teenager in particular needs free time to rest and enjoy recreation. Recreation helps adolescents both develop their creativity and have healthy mental abilities. If students work and study at the same time, they might have less free time to play games, enjoy recreation, and do their favorite hobbies, which in turn results in fatigue and depression in the future. Not only does this psychological problem have detrimental effects on the students’ life, but their country also misses the healthy future labor work, which is a precious resource in the development and progress of a nation. Moreover, the country is going to be required to spend an immense amount of its budget for curing mental diseases resulting from working during the schooldays.
In conclusion, I prefer that a student simply studies his or her lessons and does not work at the same time on the grounds that students need to put their concentrations on their lessons in order to succeed in their lessons and acquire better future opportunities, and that they need pastimes to enjoy recreation so as to maintain their mental health. Finally, I wish that any country in the world could pave the way for teenagers to continue their education without that they have to work to afford their education expenditure throughout the schooldays.
