TOEFL T P O 20 - Integrated Writing Task

There is a debate about the infamous let it burn policy which caused Yellowstone Park to burn in 1988. The author suggests the "let it burn" policy is not the best approach to do while the listening disagrees and believes that it could be a good idea to leave the fire for three main reasons.
The author believed that the fire in Yellowstone Park caused tremendous damage to trees and one third of the land was destroyed due to leaving the fire. However, listening suggests that the destruction of these plants help the ecosystem to be more diverse by growing more smaller plants.
Secondly, wildlife impacts were analyzed from each point of view. The author suggests that deer and elks were forced to run from their inhabitants and returning fire would be more devastating. On the other hand, listening believes that grow of smaller plants helped to produce a better environment for rabbits and heirs to grow which led to the growth of more predators interested in them.
Finally, the tourist attraction was the target which according to the author it was damaged by the fire however listening suggested that Yellowstone park's tourist attraction was low because of low rain at that time of year.
