The reading and lecture both discuss the idea of replacement the internal combustion engine by hydrogen based full cell engine. While the reading states three advatages of using the hydrgogen based full cell engine over the internal combustion engine, the professor refutes, saying none of these claims are convencing.
Firstly, the reading states that the internal combustion engine depends on oil which is a limited resoiurce. While the hydrogen cell engine is infinite resource. On the other hand, the professor argues this notion by saying that hydrogen cannot be the solution for that because because hydrogen is not that easy to find. In addition, he states that hydrogen should be in a pure liquid form to be used, and this is a very artificial proccess. Moreover, it is very hard to produce and storage the hydrogen. This is because this proccess needs like cold 253 celicieus degrees. So, this is not practicle.
In addition, the article claims that the hydrgen will end the pollution problem because the by-product will be just water, but the innernal combustion engine's by- product will be carbon dioxide which is very risky. nevertheless, the speaker questions this ides by pointing out that hydrgoen will not solve the problem, and the hydrogen will creates more pollution. Besides, he avers that the hydrogen purification proccess needs burn oil and coil and that will creates more pollution. So, the hydrogen factory will cause risk for the enviroment.
Finally, the reading shows that the using of hydrogen will save money on the long run because the hydrogen cell needs just the half power that required for the internal cell to do the same distance. However, the professor rejects this idea demonstrates that using of hydrogen is not cost saving. Furthermore, the manifacture itself is very expensive because this is require platinum which is very costly. Also, he explains that the manifacture with other metal rather than the platnium was unsuccessful.
