In the reading, the author provides three reasons to explain that why the dinosaurs migrated during winter to more hospitable regions. On the other hand, the professor criticizes it, maintaining this idea is questionable and she expands on her idea by bringing three main reasons.

First, the reading mentions the dinosaur's diet as evidence and illustrates that since they fed primarily on plants and there would have been no plants during the cold winter, they might have migrated and have left the area for some part of the year. Conversely, the professor challenges this idea by bringing an opposite viewpoint which posits that million years ago, the area was warmer than today and as there were suitable conditions for growing plants, dinosaurs were less likely to migrate and they had access to plentiful plants during winter. Thus, the reading point does not hold up.

Second, even though this idea that because dinosaurs lived in herd they might have migrated passed with strong support from the reading, it is odds with the professor's view and she thinks living in herd doesn't mean they were migrating. She gives the example of Rosvel Elks that live in herd but don't migrate. As stated by her, they can use migration for extra protection and it is so useful for them in different ways, proving the reading' view to be untenable.

Finally, the reading holds that since the dinosaurs were capable of traveling long distances and they can travel five Km per hour for several weeks, it is believable to think that they had migrated during winter. This idea is refuted by the professor and she points out that there were also juvenile moving slower than the adults and they didn't left/leave their juvenile and then run very fast because their juveniles can't survive without them. This, therefore, makes the reading's opinion to be unconvincing.
