TPO 29-Edmontpsaurus migration
The speaker and the passage discuss the hypothesis of surviving a spicific dinasours during ice age. Although the passage claims that there are pieces of evidence which proof the surviving of the Edmontpsaurus by migration to the sout, the speaker refutes this idea through a number of reasons which will be described in this report.
First of all, the passage points out that since the weather was so cold the plants could not grow on those time; therefore, these dinasour had to migrate to south due to depending their life on the plants. The speaker, in contrast, rejects this by claiming that on those time the weather was more warmer and sunshine was emitted twenty-four hours at the peak of the summer. As a result, the condition for plants growing was well and these dinasours had a lot of nutrients food of plants which had been died through the ice age.
Furthermore, unlike the passage which states that finding many edmontosaur's skeletons prove that they lived in herd; thus, they moving in herd to coordinating their migration, the speaker argues that animals in herd do not always migrate. She also adds that by being in herd, animals can protect themseleves from the predators. For instance, despite the rosvelt elks in south of united state are in herd, they do not migrate.
Finally, although the passage says that these specific dinasours had the ability to run fast and migrating on a long distances, the professor disagrees by mentioning that the adult edmontpsaurs are capable to run fast. However, the juveniles could not run as fast as their adults. Since they could not left the juvenile behind, due to the reason that they could not survive without adults, these dinasours could not migrate to the south.
