The reading passage describes possible explanation and claims that the silver coins that were found in the north America is not originally historical evidence. On the contrary, the lecture rebuts that, there are convincing evidence as proof of historical evidence of silver coin founded in North America.
First of all, the writer suggests that, European explorer lived far away from the site where the silver coin actually discovered in North America. According to lecture, although they lived far distance from the Main but they could travel the great distances and it was possible for them to reach the place where silver coin was found.
Second, the author indicates that since no other coins were found in the place of Main it proves that Norse could not bring the silver coin in North America. However, the lecture refutes this idea by saying that, Norse did not lived any place permanently, so when they travel, they bring their all necessary things with them, so that there were no existence of other coin in Main.
Third, the lecture posits that the Norse knew the value of silver coin to the European. So they brought it with them to Europe and can use it for the purpose of trade among European. The lecture also put forward the idea by saying this silver coin was so beautiful and it was very much plausible that Norse could use it as jewelry.
