In this set of materials, the reading passage discusses that some people beliefs that elephants behaviors are surprising and mysterious and provide several reasons to support this idea. While in the listening the professor casts doubt on what presented in the text and believes that elephants are just fascinating but these three reasons are not acceptable.

First of all, in the text, it is clearly mentioned that elephants are aware of approaching death. However, the professor claims that elephants breaking off to herd to death alone do not make sense. She says that when elephants become old they practically have difficulty for foraging with others, thus they stay near water where food is more available to eat.

In addition, the professor disagrees with this idea that representing objects through art by elephants. She says that elephants have very sensitive ears and the trainer touches the animal's ears and used it to teach painting to them also they touch elephants ears to force them repeating the paint, Therefore, representing objects by elephants is not convincing.

Finally, in the text, it is stated that the elephant afraid from mice an small mammal. The professor subscribes that elephants fear mice because mice are unfamiliar to them. For example, elephants that present in the zoo do not afraid mice because they are familiar with mice.
