To begin with, the author suggests that a possible solution is to reestablish Torreya in the same location in which it thrived for thousands of years. This specific argument is challenged by the lecture. She believes that the change of the weather due to global warming make the microclimate dryer than the original climate. As a result, she points out that this explanation can not be a solution.

Secondly, the writer argues that an option is to move Torreya to an entirely different location, far from its Florida microclimate. In contrast, the professor rejects this ideia by saying that Torreya can kill others plants and trees due the fact to generate competitions of different food sources. Moreover, she posits that this ideas does not consider the unpredictable outcomes.
