You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to go to college or to try to get a job. You think she/he should get a job.
Write a letter to this friend. In your letter
1. say why he/she would not enjoy going to college
2. explain why getting a job is a good idea for him/her
3. suggest types of job that would be suitable for him/her
Dear Kosala,
Thank you for the letter and I am doing well too. It was a pleasure to hear from you after long time.
It was a really great news that you got selected for the university. However I am happier about your other thought searching for a job.
Firstly, I accept the fact which says, going to college is fun and of course you can hang around with your friends for a while. Whereas, I personally believe that getting a profession when you are in your early 20’s is advisable. This is because, most of the companies prefer to pick young and enthusiastic candidates. When you are at college for more than 3 years you will not realize how hard it is to find a suitable job once you are out from college.
Further, since you are good at convincing people and you have a fair people skills, I could recommend you to seek for marketing jobs. If not, you can try to walk in as an intern in a big group of companies. Where you can learn a lot as this is going to be a start of your career. Anyway do your research on the job market as well.
All the very best.
Warm regards,
Vaishnavi
