maps Cambridge 12 test 6 task 1
The two maps illustrate the present outlines of the town center of Islap and its planned improvements
Overall it can be inferred that, the main changes are: adding two new housing areas, encircling the town center with a ring road and constructing a car park and a bus station.
Currently, the center of the town is crossed by the main road horizontally with two shops area along both sides. Countryside is located in the north of the street while the housing area is on the south. There are two blind ended small roads, one is to reach the school, on the south-west of the housing area, while the other is to reach the park, which is on the east of this residency area.
It is planned to replace the main road with a dual carriageway encircling the shopping area, park and most of the housing area. The countryside will be enclosed within the ring to join the previous area of shops, which was present on the north of the old main motorway to provide: new housing area (with its specific street) on the east, a car park (just on it's west) , shopping center and a bus station on the west.
The old main road will be available for the pedestrians use only, while the south shops area will remain the same. Another new housing area will be built on the west of the park just south-east to the shops
