During a recent plane journey, you sat next to a business man who owns a chain of restaurants. You talked to him and he suggested that you should contact him about a possible job in one of his restaurants.
Write a letter to this businessman. In your letter
Remind him when and where you met
Tell him what kind of job you are interested in
Say why you think you would be suitable for the job
Dear Mr. Smith,
I am writing this letter with regards to the opportunity to work in your restaurant in London.
First, let me remind you who I am. On march 17th this year, we sat side by side in the first class of a plane heading to Thailand. I remember that I recognized you right away and you were concerned about an opening event in your new restaurant in China. However, for me, that trip was part of a winning prize of a contest won by me which included a 12 week course of Thai food. We talked during the flight about staff management, kitchen tools and you gave me this e-mail address to contact you.
So, back to the reason of this letter, I would like you to consider hire me as a chef in your branch in London for the following motives. Although I might seem young, I worked in cusines through France, Italy and Germany. Moreover, won contests around the world about food preparation and I am always eager for knowledge. I think that you could easily benefit from a employee like me and also it would be a dream come true work for you.
In conclusion, I hope you consider me as chef in your workforce. Looking forward to receive your response.
Kind regards,
John Long
