You have just received a credit card statement from your bank. The statement lists a number of expensive purchases that you are sure you did not make.
Write a letter to the bank manager. In the letter:
• Introduce yourself.
• Explain that you did not buy the items listed.
• Say what you would like the bank to do to fix the problem.
You do not need to write any addresses. Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir/Madam,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am Mr. Jake Amdirson, I have been a client at your bank for almost 10 years. I have recently received my statement, as I requested it to be mailed to my home address. I am writing to you today as I am surprised to find a list of purchases that I didn’t commit.
I was out of town on the dates listed when the purchases were bought. I have a train ticket as an evidence of that. There are about ten items shown on the statement report, none of which I bought.
I would so much appreciate it if you can investigate in this case and deposit the money back to my account. I would also like to have a new card number issued as this incident reveals that someone might have memorized it and is using it in my name. The card number I have now in hand is
588895874563.
Your prompt reply is highly appreciated as this is a critical matter.
Your Sincerely,
Mr. Jake Amdirson.
