The graph below shows the average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.
The figure elucidates the number of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per individual in four European nations from 1967 to 2007. At first glance, it is evident that the most noticeable alteration occurred in Sweden and is measured in metric tonnes.
To begin with, there was a dramatic growth for CO2 emissions per person in Portugal and Italy where it, initially, stood roughly at just beneath 2 for Portugal and just above 4 for Italy, and it terminated to well beyond 4 and just well across 6 respectively. In the first 10 years, Sweden is following the same pattern as Italy and Portugal where it climbed highly to just over 10 in 1977. Unexpectedly, 1977 to 2007 witnessed an immense drop to finish at the same number as Portugal in 2007.
In contrast, the United Kingdom has a different pattern rather than the other states. The amount of CO2 emissions per individual in this country experienced a significant decline between 1967, which constituted at well below 12, and 2007, which made up at well less than 10.
