Your landlord wants to increase the rent. write a letter to tell him
why do you think the rent should not be increased?
what will you do if it increased?
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing in response to your notice number 1670OP5 dated July 18, 2019 with respect to increase in rent of the flat. We are tenants of one of your residential colonies – Bahria Town- in Rawalpindi Pakistan.
In recent correspondence, you have intimated us about the rise of the rent of the vicinity. Firstly, I believe it is completely unreasonable as you have already increased our rent last year by 12 %. Secondly, It is the government’s policy that the rent of residential area can only be increased by 8% Per annum after consulting with the tenant. On the other hand, we have asked around and came to know that the average rent of a flat like this one is 5000 rupees per month with advance amenities like fridge, private garage and laundry area.
Therefore, if you increased the rent, I would be forced to vacate the resident and find more a suitable abode for us. Additionally, I would want you to refund my security fee of amount 50,000 rupees in cash as per our agreement. However, I have a right to report breach of the law to local councils as everyone should respect and follow the laws and regulations formed by the government.
Yours faithfully,
