You have organised to go on holiday with your friend. However, you must change your plans.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:
1. tell them how much you are looking forward to the holiday
2. explain why you must change your plans
3. suggest alternative arrangements

Dear Baljeet,
I hope you and Gaurav are doing well. I still cherish the time we enjoyed last year while at your home for your marriage, that was the occasion when we committed ourselves to visit Paris on my 30th birthday. But with much disappointment, I am writing to inform you that we might have to postpone the trip.

I was really looking forward to spending some time with the new couple and to usher in my 30th birthday at the top of Eiffel tower. However, I have been recently promoted to team lead position and has been offered to move to Amsterdam for a month. Things changed rather quickly and to my benefit. I would be leaving for Amsterdam on 22nd July and would return after a month, though, no confirmation about return date has been made yet.

If it suits you, I would suggest postponing the planned trip towards the end of the year and to a new location as it would be all snow in Europe. Probably, we can think about going to Thailand to ring in the new year. Also, we all will be having our Christmas holidays, so there won’t be much pain with regards to leaves from the job.

I am sorry for this sudden change in the plan and am really looking forward to a year end trip with you. Moreover, you can suggest some destinations of your choice and then we can finalize the trip.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best Regards,
Bhawna Sharma
