The bar graph compares the trend of employment among men and women in six various countries. The study covers the period of 1995 and 2005.
Generally, the hiring rate continually increased in both men and women across the six nations within ten years. It is also clear that more men were employed than women in the same time frame.
In detail, at the end of 2005, there was a steady rise in the employment of men where the highest was noted in the UK from 55 % to 72 %. This was 17 % more than that which was initially recorded in 1995. Austrailia, Switzerland and Iceland closely followed with about 12 % of increase while the lowest was seen in New Zealand and the USA with a growth rate of about 10 % each.
A similar trend was observed among women who were hired within ten years with New Zealand and the America which grew by 13 % while Australia and Switzerland made an increment of about 11 %. Meanwhile, the female employment in the UK and Iceland only rose up to 10 % making them the lowest among all countries. By comparison, this figure was the same as that among their male counterparts in New Zealand and the US.
