The three pie charts below show the changes in annual spending by a particular UK school in 1981, 1991 and 2001
The given charts indicate the annual operating expenditures of a specific school in the UK on five primary categories in 3 recorded years, namely 1981, 1991 and 2001. As illustrated by the chart, the overall costs spent on Insurance witnessed a consistent growth compared with the opposite trend seen in other workers’ salaries while the expenses devoted to the counterparts underwent noticeable erratic patterns. Also of note is that the hugest budget of this school was allocated for paying teachers monthly over the whole surveyed period.
It is evident that in 1981, this school spent a mere 2% of its yearly expenses on Insurance whereas the figure for other employees’ monthly pay stood at 28%. Over the following ten years, the share of money dedicated for Insurance climbed to 3% as opposed to the reverse pattern showed in staff salaries, with the portion declining by 6%. In 2001, overhead spending on Insurance was able to gradually bridge the gap with that of workers’ salaries, at 8% and 15% respectively.
Such dramatic differences were not seen in the figures for the remaining categories. Despite having seen a 10% increase in 1991, with exactly a half, followed with a fall to 45% in the final year, the portion of money allocated for teachers’ monthly pay was still the most tremendous financial burden of the mentioned school. Although both Resources as well as Furniture and Equipment marked the same share of money, at 15% in 1981, the former witnessed an increase to 20%in 1991, followed by a roughly two fold decrease in 2001 as opposed to a negligible 5% going up by 18% for the latter.
