The reading and the lecture discusses discusses arguments which are about electronic database of patients. The lecturer opposes each reasons explained by author that this approach is more better than paper forms. she states that these reasons are uncertain, and then she explains all of them.
First of all, the article mentions that it would be helpful to decline the costs. The author adds that if there is no coppying or faxing ang something like that, in addition to not require a significant storage space, it can be helpful to save much more money. The speaker says it wouldn't work because doctors will use paper forms in spite of electronic systems. Therefore, there are still paper forms used as back up.
Moreover, according to the lecture, the errors won't decrease because the doctors use paper forms while they're examinating patients. The information will be recorded later. On the basis of this claim, the second argument poineted out in the passage is contradicted by the speaker.
Finally, researching in the United state has a complex and long-term process, and requires some important permissions such as patient's permission to utilize their own medical information.Based on this policy of securing privacy, electronic recording systems wouldn't nessecary benefit. Although, the author says thatit would br a significant aid in medical research which is rejected by the lecturer.
