You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
Although you have never formally studied computing, you have always been interested in computers. You have just read about a computer course that really interests you, but it is only for people who have completed an elementary course.
Write a letter to the college enrolment officer. In your letter
explain why you are writing
describe your circumstances
ask if a special exception can be made for you so you can enrol in the course
You do NOT need to write any addresses. Begin your letter as follows:
Dear
You should write at least 150 words.
Dear Sir,
I am writing to let you know that I am interested in the computer course offered in your institute. I read about it recently in the local newspaper. While I possess the basic computing knowledge, I am entirely unable to apply because it's eligibility is only for people who have completed an elementary course. I hope you will consider my situation favorably.
Let me explain my situation. I am a mechanical engineering student without any formal degree in computers, however I have always had interest in coding and algorithms. The trouble is that the mandatory elementary course will commence after 3 months but my semester break will end prior to that.
Would you kindly check if any special exception could be made to enroll me in the course? As long as I get admission, I won't mind weekend classes.
Thank you for your consideration.
Yours faithfully,
Saba Azam
