The article states the ways to save torreya trees and provides three reasons for support. Nonetheless, the professor cast doubts on those ideas and explains that none of the author's reasons are satisfactory and refutes each of the author's reasons.

First of all, the author assumes that torreya trees can grow well in the same location in which it thrived for thousands of years. The professor, however, denies this point by stating that it is less likely to be successful because he says that those regions are sharply affected by climate change; those areas became dry due to global warming.

Second, the writer posits that toreyya trees should move to an entirely different location. The professor believes that there are flaws in the writer's argument. he asserts that last time when they moved Block Locust trees, they killed other plants and yielded an unpredictable result.

Finally, the reading passage claims that toreyya would grow well in research centers, but the professor opposes this point by saying that the research center has no capacity to keep these plants. he goes on and says that if they keep these trees in the research center, they can not resist deseases, because they need large and genetically different areas.

To sum up, both the author and the professor have a conflicting view, hence they will have trouble finding common ground in this issue.
