The bar chart compares four different nations, namely Japan, China, USA and India, in terms of the proportion of the global people in two the year 1950 and 2002, and prediction for 2050.
Looking at the graph, it is immediately obvious that China and India have the highest percentages of the residents, whereas the figures for Japan is by far the lowest during the research period. Additionally, while the rates of citizens in India increases, the opposite is true for the other countries over the period shown.
In 1950, China was the most populous area with the figure recording around 23%, while the Indian people accounted for 15% of the world population. By contrast, about 7% of inhabitants on earth were from the USA, compared to only less than 5% from Japan. Over the 52 years ensuing, the percentage of the citizens in India increased slightly, whilst China, Japan and the USA all witnessed declines in their figures.
In 2050, the Indian residents are predicted to rise and it would contribute nearly 20% of the worldwide inhabitants. In contrast, the data for China and Japan are projected to fall to 15% and 2% respectively. Meanwhile, the rate of the global population being American is forecasted to remain the same, at 15%.
