The graph indicates the amount of poor people in various household categories by the year 2000. Overall, it can be seen that though the proportion in terms of married occupants with offsprings not as high as sole parents, the actual number of that was the most contribution to the sum.
Regarding the total figure, there were 1,837,000 people living in poverty from all types of households, which accounted for 11%. The elderly either being single or having a partner experienced the lowest proportions of all six categories at 60% and 4% (or 54000 and 48000 people), respectively. The spouses who had no children witnessed a one third less than which is the group having one , nevertheless, the number of the poor in these were slightly identical, at roughly 200 000 people.
According to the table, single occupants living in poverty saw a significant percentage, approximately one fifth 359 000 people. Finally the most people living with both spouse and offsprings under financial difficulty at 933 000 , whereas, the proportion of which only accounted for go 12%
