The pie charts given below illustrate US spending patterns between 1966 and 1996. The data was measured in percentage. Overall, it can be seen that the significant increase was Cars, while the lowest percentage was Food.

In 1966, based on the first pie charts, the dominated percentage was Food which had almost more than two fifths. Different from Cars as the second biggest percentage was 23%. Both of Furniture and Petrol were similar percentage, which was Furniture Gas one in ten, while Petrol got 9%. Restaurans, Books, and Computers had the total 14% which were the smallest percentage of US spending patterns.

On the other hand, in 1996 Cars showed a significant growth which had 22%. The second biggest increase was 9% from Computers. While Restaurant got 7%. Food run into the lowest percentage, which was got less than a third. These were also the cas for Books, Petrol, and Furniture, which experienced decrease.
