The reading passage state the disadvantage of online encyclopedias. However, the professor in the lecture casts doubt on the points made in the reading.
First, considering the article contributes to an online encyclopedia lack of academic credentials and informed downright inaccurate in many cases. In contrast, the professor in the lecture contradicts the idea and further explains that online encyclopedias have a great way for recorrect and edit the errors and misunderstanding of some facts and it is so useful for users that they can participate, edit and improve writing the articles in variety of aspects any time.
Second, the reading claims that in the online encyclopedias hackers have opportunity for corrupt information and data in the encyclopedia. Admittedly, the professor in the lecture justifies the information presented in the reading and makes the point that we can install protector on the articles and keep them in a safe environment on the internet.
Third, the author in the reading passage puts forward the idea that it maybe creates a false impression about what is important and what is not in the articles. In the same way, the speakers validate the idea and add that there is no worry about this issue and there is virtually unlimited space and moreover clever people can find essential facts for themeselves.
To sum up, both the writer and speaker had conflicting views about online encyclopedias. It's clear that they will have trouble finding common ground on this issue.
