The diagram below shows how ethanol fuel is produced from corn
The diagram shows the various steps in the production of ethanol fuel from the original ingredient of corn.
Overall, it is readily apparent that to produce ethanol fuel, the raw material which is corn is processed in eight stages, from harvesting corn to the transportation of the finished product.
To commence with, after being harvested from fields by farmers, corn then being subsequently stored and milled. After being broken down in the milling process, the former product enters the cooking stage. It is at this stage that a sufficient amount of water is added and the mixture is cooked within 4 hours before encountering the fermenting machine in the following stage.
The fermentation of the mixture takes 2 days ( 48 hours ) and subsequently liquidized, with solid wastes being released as by-products. The next step starts as the ethanol liquid is passed through the purifying phase with five hours before being stored. Finally, the finished product is transported and delivered to gas stations.
