You have a full time job and are also doing a part time evening course. You now find that you can not continue the course.
Write a letter to your tutor. In your letter,
• describe the situation
• explain why you cannot continue at this time
• say what action you would like to take
Dear Mr. Sam,
This is to inform you that I will not be able to continue with the Advanced Accounting course with effect from 21st August.
I have just been promoted to the position of Senior Internal Auditor and my job responsibilities have increased tremendously. This has elevated my portfolio to cover Middle East and Africa in addition to North America.
Due to the differences in the time zone, I am expected to attend virtual meetings with the North American team almost every day. The timings of most of these meetings clash with my course timings and hence I will be unable to do justice to both. At the moment, I am overwhelmed with the additional responsibilities and would like to ease my workload. Hence this request to temporarily take a break from my evening course.
I am very passionate about continuing and committed to completing my course on Advanced Accounting. Having discussed the matter with my superiors, I have been informed that the company is in the process of recruiting new staff and I will be able to delegate some of my responsibilities to them. I anticipate that the recruitment process will take at least 6 months keeping the learning curve in mind. Hence I would like to re-enrol myself for the course in February next year.
I hope to receive a favourable response from you.
Kind regards,
