The chart shows a general comparison of average changes of housing prices among five different cities in two periods in contrast with 1989. It’s clear presented that 2 of these cities such as New York and London have a completely opposite trend in the housing price changing. Meanwhile, the other three cities, Madrid, Tokyo and Frankfurt, are experiencing a drop in the housing price compared with 1989.
To be more specific, London has the largest gap in terms of differences of housing price percentage changes between these 2 periods, up to almost 20%, while New York’s housing price change is slightly smaller as 10%. However, other cities show a different movement in housing price. Madrid and Tokyo’s housing price move in the same direction. In detail, housing price in Madrid increased around 4% based on 1989, whereas Tokyo’s price dropped more than 5%. Furthermore, fluctuations of Frankfurt’s housing price are extremely slight and the price can be considered to be unchanged.
In a conclusion, the chart indicates housing price is different cities went through a completely different movement in two same periods.
