You have a problem with the computer at the office which has affected your work. Write a letter to your manager and say
– What problem do you have?
– What difficulties does this create for you?
– What could be done about it?
Dear Mr Thomson,
I want to bring to your attention an issue which has been affecting my productivity from the last 2 days; it is related to my workstation that is not functioning properly.
The problem that I am facing from the past 2 days is the unexpected shut down of my desktop without any prior notification. Sometimes, while I am working on an important presentation, the personal computer will turn off unexpectedly. Owing to such malfunctioned workstation, I must start over again; apparently, taking more time and resulting in reduced productivity.
Since my team and I are working together on a crucial project, such delays push us behind the schedule. Therefore, I would sincerely request you to either replace my faulty desktop or fix this issue as soon as possible in order to meet deadlines on time and be as productive as I was before the problem arose. Do let me know if I have to follow any specific procedure in order to subdue this problem.
Please respond at your earliest convenience.
Yours faithfully,
Alex Barns
