village of Chorleywood showing development between 1868 and 1994.
The given map details the renovations that have taken place in a village called Chorleywood located near London between the years 1868 and 1994.
Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the place had undergone numerous changes over time resulting in an improved infrastructure, extended road system, and new public facilities.
According to the given illustration, at the start of the period, a very small part of the land to the middle left of the already existed park and golf course area in the center of the map was occupied by the population. For the commute, only two main roads were built to the north and east end of the park. Then between 1883 to 1922, a new housing area accompanied by a railway station was constructed just below the old housing unit with the track passing over the main road to the left.
Furthermore, 1922 to 1970 marked the period of a significant increase in the population to the east and west of the station. Also, a new motorway was laid down cutting through the main road in the northwest of the station and connecting the same to the western end of the railway track. By the end of the period, a dramatic expansion in the population stretched the life to either side of the northern and southern ends of the motorway.
