The diagram below shows the life cycle of a salmon, from egg to adult fish.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The diagram describes the natural process life cycle of salmon from an egg, through six developmental phases to a fully-grown fish in three different areas. Also, there are more stages in the river areas as opposed to the two remainings.
Initially, after the hatching process, the fertilized eggs grow into small salmons from which these new-born creatures migrate from the river to freshwater areas for mature purposes. When this stage is complete, the estuary becomes the next place for salmons to continue to develop. It is noted that salmons double in their sizes compared to the previous area.
As salmons grow, subsequent stages in their development going on in the ocean. A suitable place for rearing helps salmon to enlarge significantly and ultimately turn them into adults. In the final phase, mature salmons return to the starting point of the reproduction process to keep increasing their population.
This cycle repeats itself when the full-sized salmons begin to lay eggs.
