Map shows construction of 2014 and planning of 2020
The maps represent the town square and its nearby area in 2014 and its proposed expansion in 2020.
Overall, it is conspicuous that the plan is to develop more shops and extend bars and restaurants. However, some of the buildings will be replaced by new architecture such as the museum will become an art gallery.
In 2014, the fountain is placed in the center of the town and the bandstand is to the east of the fountain. The town square consists of a library adjacent to the history museum. On the south of fountain, fish restaurant and bar is located whereas, fish market and town hall are on the opposite side of the bar. The administrative building is attached to the bar and town hall.
According to the proposed plan for 2020, only the fountain and town hall will remain from the original site. The most significant development would be the construction of covered seating, children’s playground and plant beds in empty space nearby the fountain. However, local artists’ gallery will overtake land previously occupied by history museums, whereas bars and restaurants will be extended in the place of library and some part of administrative buildings and remaining part of administrative offices will be constructed into multiple shops. The fish market will be converted into a supermarket which is on the left of the town hall.
