The flow chart below shows how glass containers, such as bottles, are produced and recycled.
The diagram describes how glass is manufactured and recycled.
There are four main stages in the glass generation process, from mixing to glass products. Meanwhile, the process of recycling involves five steps, beginning with gathering used glass and ending with new products.
At the first stage in the process, materials including sand and soda ash are mixed, limestone and other chemicals are also added. Following this, a glass furnace is employed to melt this mixture at approximately 1500oC. Then, molten glass experienced shaping step through blowing to create final products such as glass containers.
The first stage of the process commences with obtaining used objects which are made from glass. Subsequently, they are classified by their color before being washed to eliminate impurities. In the next stage, the decontaminated glass enters compressing and liquefying process. Finally, new products from secondhand glass are generated through molding.
