The given maps illustrate the developments of the coastal town -Youngsville, New Zealand- between 1980 and 2005.
In 1980, Youngsville was a green town with numerous trees and individual houses. However, green life was no longer in this town, and there were dramatic changes instead after 25 years.
The most noticeable is that the residential area to the north of the Alanah river was demolished to make way for the stadium, golf course, and car parking facilities. Furthermore, the railway was expanded across the river to the North. A new marina was also constructed at the mouth of the river.
To the South of the Alanah river, woodland and houses no longer existed and were replaced by the industrial estate with factories and skyscrapers along the railway. Additionally, there was a warehouse erected adjacent to the school and the airport which remained unchanged throughout the whole period.
Overall, having been a rural area, Youngsville developed into an industrial town over the 25 years, from 1980.
