Essay topics:

The chart below gives information about global sales of games software, CDs and DVD or video.

The bar chart compares the change of sales on three different product categories on a global scale over a 4-year period starting from 2000. The categories are games software, DVD/ VIDEO and CDs.
Overall, CDs items remained the products which people spent the most money, followed by DVD/video, games software. This order did not change over the year, although the numbers for CDs declined, accompanied by a general increase in sales of game and DVD items.
In 2000, a total of about $70 was allocated, half being spent on CDs ($35), below a fifth for the DVD/video ($18). By 2001, the sale of DVD/ video increased marginally to over $20 while the figure for CDs remained stagnant at initial level. Also showing a significant growth was the cost of DVD/ video, which rose by roughly $15 in the subsequent two years.
At the same time, despite starting from the lowest number in all groups, the sales of games also went up during this period, but less sharply. Sales increased from about 13 billion dollars in 2000 to just under 20 billion dollars three years later.
