The bar graph illustrates the percentage of movie’s profits from 7 different most popular genres in US cinemas in 1995,2000 and 2005.
Overall, it is clear that Drama and Comedy was the 2 most popular movie genres in 7 kinds of that mentioned in the graph. While the audiences interested in Comedy increased during 3 years, Drama suffered the significant decrease at the same period. The similar pattern was seen with Action and Animation, with the percentage of profits made from Animation went up, whilst with that made from the action movie went down. Furthermore, there were some fluctuations in the earnings of the other kinds of film types.
Looking at the graph more closely, one can see that in 1995, Drama stayed at the first spot at approximately 30% of profits of US film industry, which made a significant gap with others. For 5 years later, the profits had scarcely changed except the fact that Comedy surpassed Drama to reach the highest earnings at 25% in 2000 and still kept that position over the pan of 5 years with an increase in total profits by closely 5% up. At the same time, Adventure genre shoot up swiftly to closely 25%, which make Adventure as the second most popular viewed in the US film industry. In contrast, Drama dip steadily during the period, stood at just a half of their profit in 1995. Over the course of 3 years, there were the similar trends with thriller and musicals which made their profits just went up in 2000 at nearly 10% and then dip a low in the next 5 years by almost a half, whilst Animation constantly almost doubled when compare their profit at 2000 with the year of 1995.
