The first given linear chart indicates the percentages of households that owned electrical appliances of specifically washing machine, refrigerator, and vacuum cleaner, whilst another depicts the data of the amount of time spent on housework on a weekly basis; and both over the period from 1920 to 2019 of a nation.
Overall, the usage of refrigerator rose significantly from being showed no interest to 100% utilized after 99 years, whereas the time put aside for chores underwent a gradual decrease.
On the one hand, in accordance with the first chart, the year 1920 witnessed washing machine's data took the lead (at precisely 40%) while refrigerator's bottomed out and vacuum cleaner's accounted for 30%. At the end of the period, although the figure for washing machine mostly rose at a uniform pace, it only landed at the least used appliances (at approximately 75%). Nevertheless, the two remaining counterparts, which are refrigerator and vacuum machine, increased significantly, particularly the former reached its peak at 100% in 1980 and the latter in 2000. Both of the figures subsequently sustained their peaks for the next 19 years.
On the other hand, according to the second graph, the time spent on housework plunged gradually from its highest point of 50 hours to its smallest of only 10 hours, which was 5 times lower. In addition, the figure in the period of 1980-2000 remained unchanged.
