Your local council is considering closing a sports and leisure centre that it runs, in order to save money.
Write a letter to the local council. In your letter
• Give details of how you and your friends and family use the centre.
• Explain why the sports and leisure centre is important for the community.
• Describe the possible effects on local people if the centre close.
Dear Sir or Madam,
My name is Tran Thanh Tung. I am a resident of Khuong Dinh ward, Thanh Xuan District. I am writing to you regarding the problem related to The Sports and Leisure Centre in my ward named "Hoa Mai Centre." Please allow me to elaborate on the details.
I have heard about a plan in which district authorities would stop the centre's operation to save money. After discussing with some other residents, on behalf of them, I write this letter to you to request keeping the centre open with a new policy suggested. As you know, "Hoa Mai Centre" plays an essential role in our daily life, with over fifty households living in Khuong Dinh ward. The centre has been serving us well in leisure activities, sports for more than ten years. Many people get used to the life with their activities in the centre, therefore, letting the centre operate is needed. This is very significant for the sustainable development of our ward. To support financially for Hoa Mai Centre, I suggest that the district authority charge, instead of free as currently, for several types of sports by some methods such as selling paid tickets or issuing member paid cards. I believe that surrounding people will advocate this policy. By doing this, the saving money is solved, and resident's demands are also satisfied.
I hope you will consider my request and suggestion thoroughly, and I really appreciate any help you can provide.
Yours sincerely
Tran Thanh Tung
