Task 1: The charts below give information about the price of tickets on one airline between Sydney and Melbourne, Australia, over a two-week period in 2013
The bar charts compare airline tickets’ prices when moving from Sydney to Melbourne and backward in 2013
Overall, most tickets on Friday costed the highest when the price on weekdays is quite low and stable. Both charts show similar patterns except for week 1 when the date that booked with the highest tickets’ price was different
Booking a flight from Sydney to Melbourne in the first week was remarkably expensive ($80), roughly doubled the figure from Tuesday to Thursday. However, in week 2 the Monday price decreased significantly to just $50, while the price of tickets at the weekends still remained the same
In contrast, the highest price date when traveling from Melbourne to Sydney in week 1 was Friday with $80, followed by Monday and Saturday with $60. Moving to the second week, it is apparent that there were declines in the price of all days but Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, which all stayed stable at around $35
