The given pie chart illustrates the distribution of four various popular modes of transport in the city of Cambridge. The information provided are in two different time frames mainly in the year 2008 and 2018.
Overall, we can observe that people in cambridge were more concerned about their health and fitness over the last decade as Walking and Bicycle collectively are contributing more than a half percent of all the commute modes in 2018.
In terms of the most significant feature of the chart in the year 2008, the highest category of commuting was through cars, which accounted for 42% of the total transportation form. However, this had been reduced considerably in the year 2018, reaching to 20%. Additionally, the next major segment of the population travelling through public transport, busses showed a slight reduction over the last decade from 30% in 2008 to 25% in 2018.
In stark contrast, people of cambridge increased the usage of bicycle and change from 17% to 30% was showcased . This trend was joined by people who used to walk and a sharp increase of more than double in the percentage was observed, starting with 11% to 25% in last 10 years was noted. Of particular note is that these two modes collectively made up to 55% of Cambridge's commute mode in 2018.
