Oil Production Capacity
The bar chart shows the equivalent amount of oil produced in six Middle-East nations during the 20-year period since 1990.
In general, oil production in these countries rose during the period depicted. It saw the most rapid growth in Saudi Arabia, in contrast to the least increased in Qatar.
From 1990 to 2010, Saudi Arabia recorded the highest rise in oil production. This country was seen to produce nearly 8 million barrels per day in 1990, and the upward trend continued until it reached a peak of more than 14 million barrels per day by 2009. In comparison to Saudi Arabia, Qatar experienced the least growth over the 20-year period mentioned. Except for the slight rise in 2000, with approximately 1 million barrels of oil per day, it remained an eventual fluctuation during the period.
The other four nations increased slightly over the same period. Kuwait’s estimated oil production was nearly 2 million barrels per day in 1990, which was seen as lower than the other three countries. While the oil production in UAE stayed constant by 2000, Iran and Iraq’s oil production peaked at more than 4 million barrels per day and approximately 4 million, respectively, by the same year 2010.
