The pie charts compare the percentage of travelers to the US from four different countries over a 4-year period starting from 1988.
Overall, the proportion of Canadians occupied the majority of visitors to American, although this rate tended to decline each year. By contrast, the figure of Chineses increased significantly.
In 1988, the percentage of travelers from Canada accounted for more than half of the total tourists in the United States, roughly double the rate of Mexicos, nearly 5 times of China visitors and other countries. After 2 years, a significant growth to more quarter was seen the proportion of guests from China. In contrast, the figure of Canadians visiting the US witnessed a considerable decline by 10% to 43%. The rate of tourists from Mexico and other countries also decreased slowly to a fifth and 9% respectively.
On other hand, the statistic of guests to the US from China and Mexico rose slightly to 30% and 26% respectively in 1992. Besides, there was a decrease by approximately 5% in the rate of travelers from Canada and other countries at the end of this period.
