The graph illustrates different nutrients consumed by an average person in USA in each meal and snacks.
Overall, intake of sodium and saturated fats is higher during dinner. An average individual consumes 43% of sodium and 37% of saturated fats while having dinner. But, the amount of added sugar consumed while dinner is less than a quarter (23%) as most of the individuals were worried about their sugar levels. Although, the amount of sugar ingested is high (42%) when a person eats snacks as most of the snacks have sugar preservatives added.
However, the modest intake of nutrients was recorded when a person had lunch with 29% of sodium, 26% of saturated fat and 19% of sugar. The lowest intake of all three nutrients was when the person ate breakfast, where Sodium accounted only 14%, while saturated fats and sugar had 16% of the share in nutrients.
Im conclusion, an average person ate less amount of sugar and more amount of energy supplying nutrients during meals while, the sugar consumption was higher while eating snacks.
