The line graph represents consumption of hamburgers, pizza and fried chicken by Mauritian teenagers from 1985 to 2015.
What stands out from the graph is that the amount of hamburgers and fried chicken consumed by young people in Mauritius experienced an increasing trend. Whereas, pizza was less and less favored over the period surveyed.
Starting at 60 times eaten per year in 1985, pizza was the main fast food consumption in Mauritius by the youth, followed by a dramatical fall to 10 in 2015. The opposite trend was for hamburgers with only one sixth in comparison with pizza in 1985. This figure witnessed a rocket surge in the number of times consumed to about 71 in the last year of the period shown.
With a reference to fried chicken - the least common among Mauritian teens in 1985. Between 1985 to 2005, there was a sharp growth in the number of consumption from about 5 time to 60 times. In the next ten years, this figure remained unchanged before witnessing a slight rise 2015.
