The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.
The maps depict the current layout of the Islip town center and the proposed arrangement for future renovation.
Overall, the town center is predicted to experience some significant changes in the future, with a shift from a simple area into a complicated center.
Looking at the maps, at present, the shops are located on both sides of the main road, with a countryside zone to the north of the center. Moreover, there are two pathways directing from the main road leading to the school and the park.
According to the second map, it is noticeable that the main road will be converted into a dual carriageway around the center. Moreover, the former main road will be a pedestrian zone, with the shops to the north of it being cleared to make way for new developments, namely the bus station, the shopping center, the car park, and new housing. While the park will be diminished, the only feature to remain unchanged will be the school.
