The charts below show the percentage of water used for different purposes in six areas of the world.
The given pie charts provide a comparison of the amount of water utilized for industry, agriculture, and household in six areas across the globe.
From an overall perspective, it is obvious that Europe and North America have a tendency for consuming water in an industrial aspect while the four remaining continents use water for agriculture.
Taking a first look at the North America and Europe pie charts, it is evident that both zones apply half of the water source they have for industrial usage, which is 48 percent and 53 percent respectively. Subsequently, the other factors in these countries have the nearly same pattern, which is no more than 15 percent in domestic usage and higher than 30% in agriculture.
Moving to the four other continents, it is noticeable that the Central Area hosts the first rank for water usage in terms of irrigation, which is nearly 90 percent. Following that, agriculture in both Africa and South East Asia accounts for more than 80 percent of water sources while this number in South America is merely 71 percent. Next, the volume of water usage for the industry in South East Asia and South America have more than one-tenth while two others are under this proportion. Finally, three out of four continents spend under 10 percent on domestic usage except for South America.
